Пловдив - Plovdiv

Hello all, hope you are having a wonderful summer. Today I am going to write about Plovdiv....and its ILUK mood or Айляк in cyrillic. I had an amazing day trip by bus (We bought the tickets to the driver [chofior] 14lv, there is a train option, 8lv. Differences between them just the time...because the quality of the transport...same!) .

Nice weather, food and free tour. Well just a quick tip, Plovdiv is warmer than Sofia, it could become very hot and its several hills do not help if you are planning to have a look to them. Drink too much water, sun cream and try to walk through the shadow! (this can be complicated!)

In our day-trip we joined a free tour at 2pm (at what time we thought that it could be a good idea to join the free tour - was so hot!) [In summertime they run the tour at 6pm!] after our delicious ice-creams from Alfredo's (yummy!). We met at the post office [postata] with the guys from Free Tour Sofia, this time Free Tour Plovdiv (they are expanding and now they have also Varna - just have a look to its Website!). The walk was really interesting, nice stories and corners with some legends included - whisper your wish to the Old Milo. It can become true!

Since I arrived in Bulgaria I was looking for handmade clothing and leather. No too much good options but I found that in Old Plovdiv there are good craft workshops.

Do and Don'ts in Plovdiv.

  • Enjoy the city, interesting and beautiful spots (the mosque, the 5 Hills, the Old Town, etc), nice and smiling people.
  • ILUK my friend, that is the way to Enjoy life. :)
  • One day trip is enough for Plovdiv.
  • Fresh food and drink water!!
